Just prior to moving:

• Defrost and clean your refrigerator

• Disconnect Appliances ready for removal

• Return hired video tapes

• Return borrowed  tools, books etc

• Put aside items you don't want to take with you

• Taken down any curtains, blinds, TV ariels you intend to take with you

• Dismantled any "knock-down kit" furniture

• Disconnect your washing machine & drain all water

• Arrange for Electrical and/or Gas appliances to be disconnected - we are not licensed to do this

• Put items you want separate into your personal luggage so they are not accidentally packed

• Arrange for someone to look after your children during the packing process.

• Wash thoroughly any items that may be of interest to Quarantine, ie. mowers, garden tools, golf equipment, bicycles, etc.

• Goods in lockers at clubs or schools  

Special considerations

• Keep your car key's with you at all times as they may be misplaced during the move

• Don't polish your furniture prior to your move

• Advise us if you are moving any valuable antiques, furs or paintings with your household goods For our mutual protection, and for insurance purposes, notice in writing is requested

• Ensure that there are no breakables or liquids in drawers 

• Special packing is required mirrors, sauce bottles, perfumes, ask our advise if you are unsure

• Don't overload drawers with linen, sheets and clothing - too much weight can damage furniture

• Don't water your pot plants on or immediately prior to moving day

• Don't store perishable foods, such as cereals, flours, vegetable etc

• Don't forget to tell us everything you want moved. It's your responsibility to check before the vehicle drives off

BEWARE of dangerous goods - these items must NOT be stored OR transported:

• Ammunition

• New or partially used cans of paint

• Used paint brushes

• Linseed Oil

• LPG cylinders

• Turpentine

• Naptha

• Cleaning fluids

• Oily rags

• Shoe-cleaning rags or pads

• Polishing cloths

• Aerosols of any kind

• Vegetable oils

One last look around:  

• Check these areas;

  - the garden

  - shed

  - cupboards

  - garage

  - storage space in the roof

  - under the house

  - pantry

• No taps left running

• Light switches all turned off

• Windows and doors all locked 

• Old house keys surrendered

• Nothing left outside in the garden

• Place personal baggage into your car

• Pack the Vacuum cleaner, mops or other cleaning materials used.

And Don't Forget to:

• Confirm your removal pickup time with HYPERTRANS

• If we can assist with packing cartons, tape, paper or labels we are at your service

• Your satisfaction with the move in writing would be greatly appreciated
